Gearbox

Chiptuning gearbox software makes it possible to exploit the full potential of your vehicle and to benefit from an optimal driving experience.

Combined with BR-Performance chiptuning, it allows the parameters of the engine software to be harmonized with those of the gearbox software which are in constant communication.

  • Improved responsiveness
  • Optimization of flexibility and driving comfort
  • Modified torque limiters
  • Harmonization with engine chiptuning
  • Elimination of sequential kick-down (When possible)

BRP+

"Pops & Bangs" also called "Crackle Map", "Burble on overrun" or "Schubblubbern" is the sound of fuel detonating in your exhaust when releasing the throttle. We developed this feature to keep the turbocharger's rpm up and thus greatly reduce reaction time when you go back on the throttle after a deceleration. Basically it's an anti-lag feature for the turbo but of course you can also use it to impress your friends and to give your car a racecar sound!

Available options

Pops & Bangs

  • A) Ignition is disabled
  • B) Throttle body is closed
  • C) Fuel continues to be injected
  • D)  Fuel and oxygen ignite and keep the turbine up to full speed

"Pops & Bangs" also called "Crackle Map" , "Burble on overrun" or "Schubblubbern" is the sound of fuel detonating in your exhaust manifold when releasing the throttle. We developed this feature in order to keep the turbocharger's rpm up and thus greatly reducing reaction time when you go back on the throttle after a deceleration. Basically it's an anti-lag feature for the turbo, the sound it generates is just an unintended side effect.

To achieve this anti-lag, we keep injecting fuel in the engine after you lift off, this excess fuel isn't burnt in the cylinders as no ignition takes place, but vaporizes in the exhaust manifold and explodes there when it comes into contact with the hot manifold ( thus the "bang" sound ) , there are 2 advantages, the first is that this excess fuel will cool down the cylinder head and the second is that due to the explosion in the exhaust manifold, there is massive energy in the exhaust gasses to power the turbine of the turbocharger and so keep the turbochargers rpm up, even when you're off throttle.

There are however 2 disadvantages to this feature, the first is higher exhaust temperatures, that is why in most cases ( not all ) we do advise to only do this in combination with a decat as the high temperatures could cause damage to the catalyst convertor. The last downside is a small increase in fuel consumption.

Start-Stop Deactivation

The start-stop function was initially invented to lower fuel consumption and to reduce emissions by cutting the engine when the car is not moving (example when waiting at the red light ).

Altough it saves fuel and looks like the perfect system, a lot of users don't like it. It just kicks in when it doesn't have to...

When we disable this system, the car will have a better throttle response (SAFER!) and the lifespan of your car's battery & starter-alternator system will be significantly bigger!

Another advantage is that your air conditioning or heater system will continue to work while standing still,

Downside will be a slightly increased fuel consumption.

Catalyst Heating

The catalytic process in the catalyst only works if the catalyst is hot, so in order to keep emissions low, it's critical that the catalyst is heated quickly after the engine start.

It's the cold start function that has to heat up the catalyst as fast as possible to it's optimal operating temperature. This is achieved by increasing idle RPM and changing the ignition timing.

Catless sport cars make a lot of 'cold start' noise when they are started with a cold engine. This can be annoying for your neighbours, this is why we offer the BRP+ option!

The downside of removing the cold-start function is increased exhaust gas emissions at cold engine temperatures, that is why this modification is not compliant with the emission regulations.
